A Lincoln Townley Retrospective at the Saatchi Gallery
The highlight of a remarkable year for Lincoln Townley was his Retrospective at the Saatchi Gallery in London on October 19th 2016. It was held just two weeks before Townley attended the BAFTA LA Britannia Awards where he completed his second successive year as Artist-in-Residence, which made it a remarkable end to the year for one of the world’s leading contemporary artists.
The Retrospective displayed works painted over the last five years and included a combination of original oils and Icons, including two portraits of Sir Michael Caine who attended the exhibition with his wife Shakira.
International private art collectors and professional art buyers also flew in from New York, Los Angeles, Switzerland, Singapore, China, Australia and the Middle East, as demand for Townley’s work reached an all-time high with many paintings sold before the exhibition opened.
Paintings on display included some that had never been seen before from Townley’s Hunger Collection and the exhibition also featured recent works including original oils from his acclaimed Utopia Collection.
Lincoln Townley is a name that you’ll want to remember…
